A brief on our designer Leigh Hall
Where did it all start? About 25 years ago in East London – I had a small interiors shop offering small accessories, but soon realised that I wanted to be more involved with the design aspect of the interiors market. I completed my BTEC Interior Design course but then went on to have 3 more children. My life was taken up with being a full time Mum and a housewife to 4 boy’s and husband, so my Interior Design career took a back seat.
After moving to Suffolk I began working with an investor for some 5 years designing and buying properties to sell. We were buying products but I soon realised that I’d much rather be able to offer the products direct than buying from different showrooms. In 2016 both my husband and I decided to convert a small barn at home, offering interior accessories, furniture, lighting, wallpapers and fabrics. This is open to the public and has expanded 4 fold by using the house as a living home, showing clients what our accessories and products look like in situ. We have a small bathroom Hub, showing Geberit, Laufen, Grohe, Alessi, Gessi, Kaldewei, Mereway, tiles by Peronda, Iberoceramica, Porcelanosa, along with other products with varied price ranges to suit all. We are currently working on finishing our kitchen Hub offering 1909 and again a varied range of products to suit all. Strive For Design is a small and friendly company specialising in tailoring our products to suit our clients budget. Our projects have been based in Suffolk but we are now assisting clients in Cambridge and Essex areas.
What is different about us? Most interior designers offer suggested companies to buy products from but are unable to pass on good rates. At Strive For Design we have over 200 direct suppliers and are the only Interior Design studio to offer products to view and buy as well assisting with interior styling.
How does it work? A two hour Consultation for £150 is offered where we would visit the client’s home to see the plans or to discuss what room or rooms they are wanting to change. This could be from a lounge or kitchen to a bathroom or bedroom. We would then help with colour schemes, furniture, lighting, curtains or blinds, as well as mood trays and images of how your room would look. This is charged at an hourly rate.
Interior Design does not have to be expensive, and actually saves people time and money? Of course it does! Who has the time to plough through various products and styles and put a room design together? We search for the products, create the mood trays whilst you continue your day to day life.
