Interior Design Using Computer Generated Imagery (CGIs)
Here at Strive for Design we are huge fans of Computer Generated Imagery, often abbreviated to CGI. We use it in the majority of our design projects to help our clients visualise the end result of what we have in mind for them.
What is Computer Generated Imagery (CGI)?
CGI is a photo-realistic image allowing our client to view their completed property or room. It is used to create three dimensional quality images. CGIs allow us to create a representation of what you would like your interior to look like and help you to visualise exactly how your property or room will appear at the end of the project.
The ideal way to understand a residential or commercial interior is through 3D interior visualisation. Working alongside our clients we create professional CGIs to showcase interiors which can be lit and furnished to each client’s exact specification.
Why do we use CGIs?
We use them predominantly because they are a great tool to show you what can be achieved. We create mood boards to show you close up images of the furniture and lighting we are recommending. We arrange fabric and wallpaper samples so you can see them in real life and take them home to see how they will look in your property. With a CGI you enjoy a combination of these to visualise how they will all look together in each room. They show the true proportions of the furniture, and they demonstrate how the lighting will work and how that wallpaper that you love will bring your walls to life!
It is really important to be able to visualise how your furniture will sit in a room. Single photographs on a board can create the right impression but that doesn’t necessarily show how one item of furniture will look against the other furniture in the room. For example, you may think it appears too large on the image when in reality it fits perfectly! Equally, the wallpaper sample may be too bold for your taste when it is in your hand, but when you see it on the wall in a CGI it might be exactly what you wanted!
With 3D interior design, the lighting of an interior is equally as important as the design. Atmospheric natural light and shadow can play a significant role in creating realistic and impressive 3D interior illustrations. These lighting effects become the accurate representation of reflections, highlights and other inter-reactions of the materials in your room.
We also offer the option of having your design produced via vivid CGIs. This gives us the opportunity to present your design as a life-like representation using the colours, textures and furniture that you have picked.
