Nursery Nesting Inspiration

Spring signifies new beginnings. The birds are nesting and the lambs are frolicking. Maybe you're even expecting a new beginning of your very own and are thinking about designing a nest of your own – the Nursery – and if you are, Strive For Design have you covered.

Kiss goodbye to the predictable baby blue for boys and pastel pink for girls, as the modern market offers a wide range of paints, prints and accessories that will create a timeless room perfect for your new addition.

Opting for walls in muted natural colours such as Mushroom, Pebble, Sand or Duck Egg Blue will provide a gender neutral space that you and your baby won’t outgrow and sets a neutral canvas that can be easily accented and accessorised, without becoming too overpowering.

For a contemporary finish, use darker shades of your chosen wall colour on the skirting and doors or to up-cycle existing furniture. Clever use of different shades throughout the room will add interest, without compromising elegance.

Embrace nature with white walls and wooden furniture and then accent with a rug like this gorgeous tasselled, round, rainbow rug and then pull on its colours for the nursery accessories, such as wall hangings, lights and soft furnishings.

Babies aren’t born with fully developed eyes and therefore they don’t perceive muted tones as well as they do bright contrasting colours.
