Working during the Covid-19 pandemic
There is no doubt that the Covid-19 pandemic has presented everyone with challenges in both our personal and business lives. Encouragingly for us at Strive for Design, working from a distance has been a success! We have managed to have virtual meetings, walked around homes and seen rooms that clients want to refurbish and change, and we have managed to get through these strange times with the innovative use of technology. Now, of course, life is beginning to get back to some normality. With restrictions being eased to some degree, we at Strive For Design have procedures in place to attend site, visit clients and hold consultations in the showroom, and to ensure that everyone stays safe we observe the following protocols:
- We request that our clients confirm that they are well and have no symptoms of Covid-19 before we attend their premises.
- We will confirm that we have no symptoms of Covid-19 prior to visiting.
- We have hand sanitiser and will wear fresh gloves and masks if required.
- We ask our clients to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
- We ask that the site or home is well ventilated, with windows open if possible.
As Leigh Hall, owner of Strive for Design, observes, the last few weeks have been a test of endurance, but the team is coming out fighting. 'We anticipated that the virus would have an impact on key aspects of interior design and the design world in general, and there is no doubt that things have definitely changed,' comments Leigh. 'But here at Strive for Design, we believe that as an industry we will continue to thrive in the aftermath of the crisis. As designers we can flourish in constrained situations and we will always find a way of getting the job over the line. Hopefully some of our best work will be done over the coming months. We are looking forward to the future and we know that we can work with our clients to achieve a safe and healthy working environment to enable us to refresh their living spaces and helping them source products, while at the same time constantly keeping the risk of infection to a bare minimum.'
